About This Blog

'Alu 'Auha is a Tongan phrase, meaning "go for broke." It is a term my husband wanted to use as a mantra of sorts for our marriage.

Not that we want to literally go for broke with our lives -- but as two very shy and introverted people, taking the leap to marry and start a new life together was monumental, scary, and even crazy.

And honestly, sometimes it still is. But we've found that when we  get the courage to break our shells and make those important decisions in our lives, we grow by leaps and bounds -- in ways we never would have otherwise.

We have also found the opposite to be true: when we choose the smaller, easier, more familiar option because of our fear, we regress, become complacent, and pretty much fade into the background.

I myself have been in the background of my own life for the last 5 years or so. I'm going to change that. This blog will be proof.
